William Lynn Blanchard

1950-2002

Our beloved son, father, brother, and uncle, William L. Blanchard (Bill), passed away un-expectedly August 30, 2002. Born Jan 26, 1950 in Salt Lake City, UT to Alice E. and Briant K. Blanchard.

Grad-uated from East High School, 1968, later at-tending the Uni-versity of Utah. He was active in athletics, espe-cially football.

Bill married Cathy Rytting in 1969, later divorced. They had a son, Richard. Daughter, Mc-Kayle, born to Bill and Gayle Hadden in 1982. He was a longtime employee of Smith Detroit Diesel.

Bill loved the outdoors and driving his truck up the mountains into remote areas. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, trap shooting, and fishing.

Bill will be greatly missed by his children; brothers, Bud (Sherrill), Sandy, UT, Scott (Patrice), Peachtree City, GA; mother, Alice; nieces, Molly, Jodi; and nephews, Nicholas, Sean. Preceded in death by father, Briant K. Blanchard. Bill's body will be cremated, and his remains scattered in the mountains he loved. A memorial service will be at a later date. Death - the last sleep? No, it is the final awakening.
