Our beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, Craig Jay Buehler, passed away peacefully in Heber, Utah, on November 13, 2023. Craig was born on September 6, 1949, to Jessie Maurine Turnbow and Franklin Lloyd Buehler in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Craig always lived life to the fullest, seeking to add joy to any gathering through his music, stories, and jokes. He was lovingly nicknamed Louis by his brothers and friends. He grew up playing in the creek on the back of Claremont Way and hunting in the hills of Woodland, Utah. He often spoke of his childhood with wonderful family, friends, and neighbors.

He attended East High School, where he was considered a bit of a prankster. At 18 and 19, he spent his summers working as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, and at 22, he served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He attended both Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi House. Craig graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a minor in Art. Later, he received his Master of Education at the University of Utah. He served in and retired from the Utah Air National Guard.

Craig met and married the love of his life, Susan Beck, in 1974 and was sealed to her in the Salt Lake Temple on May 12, 1975. Together they had three daughters, Kimberley Ann Pond (Eric Lehr Pond), Amy Buehler, and Natalie Paul (Gregory Scott Paul). Nothing brought more happiness to Craig than spending time with family.

He taught art and business at Jordan and Canyons School Districts for 33 years. Most of his teaching career was as at Brighton High School. He taught photography, fine arts, ceramics, calligraphy and jewelry.

Craig was a skilled sculptor, painter and musician. He played the guitar, piano, fiddle and banjo by ear. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and gardening.

Craig is survived by his wife, Susan, daughters Kimberley (Eric), Amy, and Natalie (Scott). His grandchildren, Shaelyn Rose, Zachary Lloyd, Trevor Lehr, Angeline, Aubrey Ann, Jane Marie, Sarah Joy, his brother Robert, and many other nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother, Brent Buehler, and his sister-in-law, Martha Buehler.

We greatly appreciate Spring Gardens for all the love and care they provided him.

A visitation will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the chapel located at 1205 W 650 S, Heber City, UT 84032. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 11 am. Interment: Elysian Gardens, Millcreek, UT
